Being able to contribute to the dissemination of the latest scientific evidence as well as being the link between the association and the professionals in my country will undoubtedly be a milestone in both professional and personal development. Portuguese Association of Nephrology Congress, the ENCONTRO RENAL 2022
From the 17th to 19th of November, the APEDT (Portuguese Association of Nephrology) congress, the ENCONTRO RENAL 2022, was taking place. EDTNA/ERCA Brand Ambassador for Portugal Maria Eulália Novais presented EDTNA/ERCA during the meeting. She discussed with representatives of several Nephrology clinics to publicize EDTNA/ERCA. The EDTNA/ERCA Green Excellence in Dialysis Recommendations were promoted by Inês Fonseca (BBRUAN, PT) and By Cristina Pires (Davita PT).

The 18th APEDT Meeting took place 9-10/04/2022 and included the EDTNA/ERCA Masterclass "Peritoneal Dialysis" Masterclass was a great success and was very well attended.
EDTNA/ERCA BA for Portugal Maria Eulália Novais presented the EDTNA/ERCA 50th International Conference that will take place in September in Rotterdam and reinforced the idea that many new themes will be part of the Conference.

On the 43rd EDTNA/ERCA International Conference in Riga, Portugal presented several works, and won the 1st prize for Best Manuscript Scholarship with the work:

Spiritual well-being of dialysed people with end stage renal disease F. Loureiro1, A. Gomes1, M.Machado1, F. Vieira1, J. Fazendeiro Matos2 ( 1 NephroCare Dialysis Centre Braga, Fresenius Medical Care, Braga, Portugal; 2 NephroCare Nursing Care Management, Fresenius Medical Care, Porto, Portugal)

Portugal also saw in Riga, one more education program recognized in the EDTNA/ERCA Accreditation Awards 2014.

In Portugal the promotion of EDTNA in local and national seminar in partnership with APEDT is growing and further contacts and activities are in progress.

The next activities with EDTNA promotion will happen on 27 March – 1 st Nephrology Seminar of Hospital Santa Maria, Raquel Ribeiro will speak about Secondary Prevention of Renal Disease – the reality in Hospital Santa Maria.

16 to 18 April – Nacional Conference of APEDT in Vilamoura ‐ promotion and launch of projects in partnership with EDTNA.

In the future, we intend to encourage the publication of the papers presented and develop partnerships with industry and nursing schools.
