Brodovy dny – 10th educational symposium of the Czech Society of Nephrology took place on May 3-5, 2023 in Mikulov (CZ). This event also included a separate working day for renal nurses. Scientific programme focusing on pitfalls of vascular access for dialysis, pitfalls of paediatric nephrology, pitfalls of palliative care in nephrology and pitfalls of nursing care in nephrology attracted more than 200 renal nurses from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. At this event was introduced the Czech version of the EDTNA/ERCA publication Supporting patients who opt not to have dialysis or stop dialysis. All copies were quickly distributed and we are already thinking about translating another publication from the EDTNA/ERCA publication portfolio.

XVII. Multidisciplinary Nephrology Congress in Olomouc
Almost 200 people, mainly nurses attended the XVII. Multidisciplinary Nephrology Congress in Olomouc organized by the nephrology section of the Czech Association of Nurses in the cooperation with EDTNA/ERCA Brand Ambassador. The main Congress theme was “Is change possible?“
The event was kindly sponsored by Shire, Sanofi, Fresenius Medical Care, Fresenius Kabi, Baxter, Abbvie, Česká nadace pro onemocnění ledvin, Spadia, Dialcorp, Batist, Ecolab, Biomedica, Bionext (NxStage). The media partner was nursing journal Florence.
Our Brand Ambassador for the Czech Republic, Jitka Pancířová presented during the opening session talk called European education projects for renal nurses.
Joint EDTNA/ERCA and NxStage Guide was on the scientific programme agenda in the afternoon, as well as the home haemodialysis talk “Building and organization of successful HHD programme presented by N. Pacy working at the Queen Alexandra Hospital Portsmouth, Wessex Kidney Centre, U.K.
