November 12,2020
Speaker:
Prof Walter Sermeus

Covid-19 is putting a lot of stress on our national healthcare systems and hospitals. To have enough capacity of hospital beds and mainly ICU-beds is often reported as the main challenge, but the main bottleneck however is the right number of qualified physicians and nurses, being competent to care for ICU-patients. In the webinar, we will explore the current situation on covid-19 in various European countries, existing capacities, and nurse staffing in hospitals. We will discuss how nurse staffing is effecting patient outcomes, how covid-19 is affecting the well-being of caregivers followed by some practical recommendations.
