Improving the quality of life of people with end-stage kidney disease (and their carers) from diagnosis through to end of life.

Developed the consolidated criteria for reporting qualitative health research (COREQ), and enhancing transparency in reporting the synthesis of qualitative health research (ENTREQ).
Earned several prestigious awards, including the Ian McKenzie Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Transplantation and The Australian Research Award for Best in the Field (Nephrology and Urology).

Mike Kelly is a psychotherapist and supervisor who has worked in renal care for over twenty years in both the United Kingdom and Ireland. Presently he is the Psychological Care Consultant with the EDTNA/ERCA (European Dialysis and Transplant Renal Nurses Association). He has written extensively, and has spoken at a number of conferences in Ireland, the United Kingdom and Europe focusing on the importance of having a robust counselling service available to all renal patients and their families.
